Robert Downey Jr.
Ok, so it's pretty corny to draw pictures of celebraties...
But anyway, here's a sketch of Robert Downey Jr. I just liked his facial expression and I wanted to practice my pencil portrait skills.

Van Dongen draft
Here's a sketch I did a while ago after seeing the Van Dongen retrospective exhibition at Palais De Tokyo.
I'm looking at his work to learn more about colour combinations and texture.
The Dawn of the Lino
I'm planning to translate some of my recent life drawings into lino prints. I'm by no means abandoning my new-found passion for oil pastels, just exploring how to develope sketches into more considered compositons.
I've been inspired lately by some of the expressions wood block prints. (I'll graduate to wood block when I've done my time with the lino). There's currently an expressionist exhibition running at La Pinacoteque. Kirchner and Heckel's block prints particularly caught my eye.
AND there's an Edvard Munch exhibition at the Centre Pompidou including some block prints.
Watch this space for my work in progress.

Everywhere everywhere
I've been seeing this all around my neighbourhood this week and decided to photograph it and make an animated gif. I'll keep an eye out for it so I can make a more elaborate animation.
